The Classic Double room offered fine views of well-maintained gardens. The extensive Scottish breakfast, with haggis, stood out as a culinary delight, catering to various tastes and setting the right mood for the day.
This place isn't your typical country house hotel and spa. It's clear that the facilities are in dire need of refurbishment, including some peeling paint. The garden spa, rather unimpressive, consists of a couple of sheds and an out-of-order hot tub, showing signs of neglect. If you're visiting in the winter, the original windows let in a chill, so don't forget to pack a jumper for dining. The lack of consistent upkeep in common areas detracts from the overall experience.
